LLM Budget Alerts
Stay informed when companies approach or exceed their monthly LLM spending limits.
Setting Up Budgets
Before you receive budget alerts, you need to set a monthly LLM budget for each company:
- Go to the company's detail page
- Click Edit
- Set the Monthly LLM Budget amount
- Save changes
Budget Warning (80%)
When it triggers: A company reaches 80% of their monthly budget.
In-app notification:
"LLM budget warning" "[Company Name] has used 82% of their monthly LLM budget ($500)."
Cooldown: 24 hours per company
This gives you time to review usage and decide whether to increase the budget or investigate unexpected consumption.
Budget Exceeded (100%)
When it triggers: A company exceeds their monthly budget.
In-app notification:
"LLM budget exceeded" "[Company Name] has exceeded their monthly LLM budget. Current spend: $542 (108% of $500 budget)."
Cooldown: 24 hours per company
Important: This alert cannot be disabled as it indicates potential billing issues.
How to Respond
- Click the notification to view the company's LLM costs
- Check the Cost by Model breakdown to identify high-usage models
- Review the Cost Over Time chart for unusual spikes
- Consider:
- Increasing the budget if usage is expected
- Investigating unexpected API calls
- Optimizing prompts or switching to cheaper models
Who Receives Budget Alerts
Only account admins receive budget alerts (not regular members).
