About
Versent is an Australian technology consultancy, owned by Telstra, that works mainly with government, critical infrastructure and large enterprises. Its Data and AI practice prepares the data, platforms and governance that organisations need before AI can be used safely at scale.
Work often begins with Pathfinder, a short advisory engagement that produces a data and AI roadmap and a ranked list of use cases. An extended version adds a proof of value for one use case on the client's real data. A separate GenAI readiness assessment reviews data maturity, architecture and security, then builds a generative AI proof of concept with the client. Delivery teams also build cloud data platforms with in-house accelerators, run DataOps with automated testing and monitoring, and produce Power BI dashboards, semantic models, data science and predictive models.
Versent partners with AWS, Microsoft, Snowflake and Databricks, and its staff hold certifications across these platforms as well as Microsoft Fabric and dbt. Each engagement includes coaching and change support so client teams can run the new systems themselves. Its sectors include financial services, retail, utilities and government. The firm also runs cloud, security and identity, and managed operations practices, with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
