Inventive Works

Inventive Works, which trades as Inventive, is a veteran-owned software studio based in Austin, Texas. Andy Siemer and James Shaw founded it, and the team works mostly remotely. It designs and builds new products, modernises legacy systems and takes over stalled projects from other vendors.

Services cover product development, custom software and SaaS, cloud development, data engineering and AI automation. On the AI side the firm builds internal copilots, end-to-end workflow automation, and LLM features added to existing apps using OpenAI, Anthropic Claude and open-source models. It also builds custom RAG pipelines and classifiers and runs AI readiness assessments. The firm operates its own AI products, ProfitFinder.ai for small business revenue and StudentSignal.ai for higher education.

Published projects include a Flutter telematics app on Azure for insurer Assurant, a student platform for Texas A&M University, a multi-tenant legal tech SaaS on AWS for Litigation Exchange, a scheduling platform for MAS HVAC, and PowerApps field workflows for Freedom Fuels. Target sectors include finance and insurance, oil and gas, higher education, healthcare, manufacturing, e-commerce and SaaS.
